In 2007, SRC developed a proprietary patient outcomes database known as BOLD. Through years of advancement, it is now regarded as the world’s largest and most comprehensive repository of surgical outcomes data. Within BOLD there are four databases: three research databases and the quality improvement database.
BOLD’s multispecialty databases provide users real-time access to patient outcomes that guide clinical decisions. Providers can also obtain meaningful information through customized reports based on information from their own individual practice. Benchmarking reports enable participants to compare their individual outcomes to aggregate data. Other customized reports allow participants the ability to celebrate successes and identify opportunities for growth.
Having a scorecard for measuring the performance of centers and surgeons after accreditation is essential for measuring quality. SRC’s BOLD databases accomplish that and provide a necessary benefit to accredited facilities and medical professionals at no additional charge.
