…that I would like to inform all of you that we have finally achieved our dream of international designation with Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). We achieved designation in both accreditation programs; Center of Excellence in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and Surgeon of Excellence in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery; the most important designations in this specialty.
We chose these designations for a few reasons: the well-recognized and credible process, as well as the international relevance that this designation brings to its audited participants.
It is true, we worked for over a year towards this recognition. We worked hard to meet all program requirements, provided documentation about our process in assistance, structure, physical, information technology and detailed the continuous training with our Human Resources area. Through all of this work, we have improved and are now better qualified to provide the highest standard of care for the highly complex needs of the obese patient.
I believe that we are very lucky to be included in such an institution as Bahia Hospital. Our practice “Nucleo de Tratamento da Obesidade”, which is actually the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Service of the Bahia Hospital, creates an immense relationship between both outpatient and inpatient care. Having our practice located inside the hospital helps facilitate multidisciplinary attention and support for diagnostic and therapeutic needs, both of which are important in surgical treatment of the obese patient. We would like to thank all the collaborators of the Bahia Hospital: Our Medical Doctors, the Coramed company and the Gebrim company for their invaluable support. Our Medical Coordinators, Catiúscia Cerqueira (Nurse Manager), all of the nurses of this hospital, Daniel Martinez, Luiz Henrique Costa and Eduardo Napoli, Diego Dantas (nutritionist), Ana Paula Carvalho (administrative coordinator), Elisabete Gomes, Nelson Moscow, and all my friends and supporters like Jadelson Andrade, Fernando Júnior and Lilian Tombo. I would also like to say a special thanks to Karine Sepúlveda (psychologist) whose work was invaluable throughout this laborious process.Thank you immensely to all who directly or indirectly contributed to this.
